Academics
Our academic program consists of the
best combination of Christian and non-religious materials
available. We use Open Court Reading™, a comprehensive
approach to reading and language arts instruction. It is rated
as one of the best programs on the market. A spiraling curriculum,
it provides instruction in phonics, fluency, comprehension,
vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and writing and is taught at
every grade level, Pre-K through 6th. Our math program prepares
students for the pre-algebra class we teach in the 6th grade.
Our science, health, and history courses are taught from a
Bible-based perspective using the A Beka™ textbook series.
In addition to the regular classroom instruction, our elementary
students attend two resource classes each day on a rotation:
art, music, computers, PE, and Spanish.

Bible & Character
Our elementary students participate
in daily devotions in the classroom, attend weekly chapel
services with our children's pastor, and see the Word of God
applied in all areas of study. Each month, there is a specific
character trait that is studied using memory verses, classroom
activities, role-playing, school-wide assemblies, and a lot
of opportunities for practice. Each time a student is "caught"
demonstrating the trait by a faculty member, it is recorded
on a card and placed in a collection box. At the end of the
month, twelve cards are drawn at random and those students
are the winners of our "Lunch & Limo" reward.
This program sends students on an all-expense paid trip to
Harry's restaurant for lunch in a stretch limousine (with
a teacher chaperone, of course!) The remaining nomination
cards are also read aloud so that we may celebrate the excellence
in character of all of our students.
